Price of tour: Adults $60 or Child (Aged 8-17) $40  - (includes silent disco gear) - This experience is suitable for ages 8+.

Duration: 2.5 hours

Start time: Will vary throughout the seasons and will be set based on the time the sunset is expected. The time for each date will be published when booking. Arrive 5 mins before the experience start time. 

​Location: Shoalwater Foreshore Reserve to the left of the playground in the open area. On the corner of Arcadia Drive and Churchill Avenue - facing the beach on the lawned area. 

Note: 24 hours notice will be provided if the tour is cancelled due to severe weather conditions. On some occasions 6 hours will be provided on the day of the tour. If the tour is cancelled you have the option to reschedule to another date, or receive a refund. 

In the Winter Months we save two dates - the date the tour is advertised, and the night after, just in case the scheduled tour date has severe weather conditions. Your ticket will automatically be rescheduled for the following night. Please save both dates if you book for a winter tour.

This unique tour is hosted by two tour guides from different cultural backgrounds - Monique Boucher from Hidden deTours and Whadjuk tour guide Steven Jacobs. Combined they share stories about First Nations and European history in the area from past to present.

Moordibirdup (Rockingham) is steeped in rich Aboriginal history from over 50,000 years ago. Hear Dreamtime stories about how Meendip (Garden Island) came to be and the significance of ceremonies for Noongar people in this area. 

Through the wonder of silent disco headphones Noongar stories, history and culture are brought to life with a musical soundtrack. 

Experience a Welcome to Country, smoke ceremony and sand throwing ceremony on the beach, before we continue our journey along the foreshore. 

Learn about Aboriginal lore and culture, the importance of skin groups, bush medicine, and local food procurement.  

CONTENT WARNING - The impacts of colonisation will be discussed, such as genocide, massacres and the stolen generation, with truth telling at the heart of how we all move forward together in this country.

Your Mandurah adventure includes a scenic Dolphin Cruise through the estuary and canals. Keep watch for wild dolphins while taking in waterfront homes, abundant birdlife, the Ocean Marina and some of Mandurah's best views from the water. Then it is time to go in search of two of the famous Giants of Mandurah, enormous wooden sculptures hidden within the region's natural landscapes. Created by internationally acclaimed Danish artist Thomas Dambo as part of a world-class outdoor art installation, discovering where these larger-than-life characters are hiding is all part of the adventure. Seek out Yaburgurt Winjan Cirkelstone and Santi Ikto along the way.

As the day draws to a close, enjoy a memorable coastal setting as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. A complimentary glass of sparkling wine or water is also included during your tour.

As night falls, head to a secluded location for a relaxed and fascinating guided stargazing experience. Explore the night sky through telescopes and binoculars, with opportunities to view the Moon, planets and beautiful star clusters, depending on visibility. Your guide can even help you capture photos of the Moon and stars using your mobile phone through the telescope.

Good to Know

• Enclosed footwear: Enclosed shoes are compulsory for this tour. Please wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for exploring natural landscapes. Thongs, sandals and other open-toed footwear are not suitable.

• Warm clothing: Bring a warm jacket or extra layers, as temperatures can drop considerably in the evening, particularly along the coast.

• Tour times: Tour start and finish times vary throughout the year based on the time of sunset. The sequence of experiences may also change to make the most of the sunset and night sky.

• Dolphin sightings: Dolphins are regularly spotted during the cruise. As they are wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed on every departure. There is plenty to enjoy along the way, with beautiful waterways, canals, wetlands, birdlife, waterfront homes and the Ocean Marina all part of the cruise experience.

• Stargazing: Stargazing is included as part of the tour, with visibility of stars, planets and other celestial objects dependent on weather conditions on the night.
